Our COVID safety procedures for camp 2020

We are looking forward to a fun-filled summer with lots of great summer experiences in the community -- while also doing everything possible to protect our campers and staff. During this pandemic, to best keep everyone safe, we have made some changes to our usual camp structure.
The safety and health of our campers and staff is always the highest priority. Aquidneck Island Day Camp will follow every applicable state regulation.
Pods
In keeping with state regulations and guidelines, campers will be assigned to a pod/team consisting of 10 campers and five staff. Campers will remain in their team throughout the summer.
Additional locations
To ensure enough outdoor space, we are using a couple of locations.  Large tents will be placed at these locations to be the home-base of each pod.  Two pods will be located at Glen Park in Portsmouth, and one at Looking Upwards in Middletown.
These locations will be for check-in and drop-off. We are still planning community outings. Weekly the campers will be visiting parks, beaches, and sailing. We look forward to having a fun-filled summer with your child!
Screening & Disinfection
We will enquire about symptoms to screen each camper and staff member at the start of the day, in compliance with the state’s guidance.  Temperature checks will also be conducted.
All common surfaced will be disinfected throughout the day.
